AutomotiveCars › Aston Martin Updates the V8 Vantage Coupe

Luxury car maker Aston Martin has improved the V8 Vantage so that it is better than ever, and all for a lower price. With its biggest set of updates since 2008, the new V8 Vantage blends elegance and aggression to make even the new Porsche 911 look ordinary.

On the outside of the V8 Vantage Coupe, the side sills are more sculpted and there is a lower front splitter and a new rear diffuser, both taken from the 430bhp Vantage S. A new Red Lion paint colour matches red stitching on the seats, which is one of the only changes in the cabin.

Aston has made changes to the steering ratio, brakes, suspension settings and tyres, although the 420bhp 4.7 litre V8 engine has been left untouched. The steering ratio is now quicker, down to 15:1 from 17:1 making the whole car feel more alert. Each of the four tyres is now 10mm wider allowing the driver to carry more speed in corners. The suspension settings have been softened, with a subtle difference to the previous model, but the result is a more polished drive over really bad surfaces.
While the changes improve the performance of the V8 Vantage, the price has actually come down in price by £5,900 to £84,995 for the entry level Coupe. The Roadster has been cut in price by £5,000 and is now priced at £93,995. Even the Vantage S has been cut in price by £2,205 and is now £99,995. The V8 Vantage will be available at every Aston Martin garage across the UK later this year.
